Slave master to Roman galley slaves:
"Men, you've been rowing for hours and hours and hours. Well, I've got good news and bad news.

"What is it?" a slave cried.

"The good news is you can take a 15-minute rest."

The slaves cheered.

"And the bad?" asked another slave when the cheering had calmed.

'After you rest, the captain wants to water ski."
