The party they had been planning for weeks was finally over. Howard slumped in his recliner and looked at his wife who had just thrown herself onto the sofa.
"How could our fourteen-year-old son’s birthday party have been raided by the cops?" he said.
"Who knew," said the wife wearily, "that when he told us he was going to have someone there to do tricks, he didn’t mean a magician or a clown."
